Structural Fitter Welder (Heavy Plate) Up to $29/hour (based on experience) 1st 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM We are seeking an experienced Structural Fitter Welder to join a growing team specializing in heavy plate fabrication in Cudahy, WI. This role involves fitting and welding structural components using blueprints and specifications, with a focus on precision and quality. Structural Fitter Welder Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: Fit and weld heavy plate material up to 1 inch thick Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols Perform MIG welding using.032–.045 wire Measure, cut, and align materials to ensure proper fit-up Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and measuring tools Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards Maintain a clean and safe work environment Structural Fitter Welder Requirements: Previous experience as a structural fitter/welder in a manufacturing or fabrication setting Strong blueprint reading and layout skills Experience working with heavy plate (up to 1") Proficiency in MIG welding (.032–.045 wire) Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math Strong attention to detail and workmanship Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods Welding certifications are a plus Preferred experience with large structural assemblies
