Acute Care Registered Nurse Resident

Hartford Healthcare seeks a Registered Nurse Resident to deliver safe, compassionate acute care in a structured residency program. In this full-time, on-site role, you will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, and support care plans under the guidance of experienced preceptors. You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, use advanced EMR systems, and educate patients and families. Provide direct acute care nursing to adult patients, including assessments, treatments, and evaluations Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely following hospital protocols Develop, implement, and update patient-centered care plans in collaboration with the care team Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions Uphold infection prevention, safety, and quality standards in all aspects of care Participate in residency education, simulations, and competency validations Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately Contribute to a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous improvement Acute care nursing Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Care planning and care coordination Vital signs monitoring and interpretation Patient and family education Infection control and safety protocols Clinical documentation Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in CT (or eligibility) BLS certification (AHA) ACLS preferred or obtained within 6-12 months Completion of accredited nursing program Participation in nurse residency/orientation program
