Workship - Scenic & Properties Shop Assistant

Job Summary: The Workship position for the Department of Theatre and Dance is responsible for serving as a properties shop assistant, lighting technician and/or scene shop technician, including but not limited to assisting in implementing lighting design or scenic design, set up, operation, and breakdown for sets, props, and/or lighting; and organization and upkeep of current inventory.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be a current Troy University student Must be a theatre or dance major or minor Must have experience in properties, lighting, or sets Must have completed lighting techniques and/or technical theatre classes

Preferred Qualifications: Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility Work Hours 10 to 15 hours per week Hours will vary List any hazardous conditions or physical demands required by this position Ability to work with some high-heat or high-current tools Ability to work with shop equipment (saws, etc.) Does this position have supervisory responsibility?
