Civil - Senior Engineering Technician - Substation

Key Responsibilities include: applying advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline, contributing to the development of innovative engineering solutions, using digital tools and design software with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables, providing consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards, establishing and communicating appropriate design and graphic standards, reviewing project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content, promoting quality and consistency across projects, groups, and sections, reviewing design inputs to ensure alignment and consistency, ensuring deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards, managing drawing control and maintaining historical project records, applying engineering principles and established design practices to complex designs, exercising sound judgment in interpreting inputs and making deliverable-related decisions, handling complex technical assignments and providing guidance to other professionals, performing design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentation, reviewing deliverables produced by others for quality and accuracy, coordinating presentations, production design, and use of electronic design tools, monitoring production to ensure consistency, budget, and schedule, programming control systems or supporting plant start-up activities within area of expertise, coordinating with other design groups to exchange information for design development, supporting field activities as required, communicating project design requirements, progress, and schedules, assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and determining the key clients in some instances, communicating client interests and drivers to project team members and developing approaches to accommodate these concerns, assisting discipline or department management in developing and communicating appropriate design standards and process improvement activities, identifying and supporting training and development needs for supervised personnel, recognized for expertise in one or more areas, making presentations and conducting training classes within a specialized area of expertise. Preferred Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required, and a Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. Minimum Qualifications typically require a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
