(RN) Registered Nurse - CVICU | New York, New York

As a Registered Nurse specializing in CVICU, youll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide specialized care for critically ill cardiac and surgical patients during a contract assignment.

Schedule/Hours: Varies depending on facility needs (details provided during interview).

Qualifications: Current and unrestricted RN license. Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a CVICU or comparable critical care setting. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and management of patients with cardiac devices. Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver intensive nursing care to post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgical patients, as well as those with advanced heart failure. Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and response to interventions. Administer and titrate critical intravenous medications following protocols. Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Evaluate patient progress, document clinical findings, and update care records accurately. Educate patients and families regarding recovery and care processes. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, staying vigilant for any signs of complications.
