Apply for this role →Layout Technician - 2nd Shift Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Layout Technician - 2nd Shift at our Troy, IL facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $25.44 per hour, plus a $0.50 cent shift differential. Employees follow a wage progression schedule and will reach $27.40 after 12 months of employment. What You'll Do:
The Layout Technician will operate sheet metal fabrication machines, read shop orders, read and understand engineering drawings, perform quality checks and use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions. In the functions, you will: Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)Run various machine operations (brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing & hand sheering)Safety & Quality Training necessary, but not limited to: Types of Mechanical Power Presses

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment. Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Troy, IL will be considered. (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience reading blueprints Prior experience with calibration equipment such as calipers. Proficient with computer application systems, such as SAP.Position Success Criteria: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment. Ability to be self-driven. Must be able to move, position, and/or lift parts or boxes weighing 10lbs-50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
