Job Description:
  • Jeweler Job Summary
  • The Jeweler responsibilities will include ensuring proper assembly, smoothing and polishing finished products, designing pieces and building molds, and evaluating the quality and value of pieces and raw materials.
  • Jeweler Primary Responsibilities
  • Restore damaged or broken jewelry, select appropriate gems, clean and polish jewelry while maintaining quick turn-around times
  • Repair broken clasps, pins, rings, and other jewelry by soldering or replacing broken parts
  • Reshape and restyle old jewelry, following designs or instructions, using hand tools and machines, such as jeweler's lathe and drill
  • Adhere to all safety-related procedures to reduce the risk of accidents
  • Order and maintain jewelry supplies, necessary in jewelry workshop
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Set up a repair shop independently
  • Cut and shape precious metals into jewelry pieces using cutting and carving tools
  • Re-size rings made from using different metals
  • Jeweler Qualifications
  • Prior professional Jeweler, Bench Jeweler, Jewelry Repair Technician, or Jewelry Technician experience required
  • Hands-on experience with jewelry repair, restoration, fabrication, soldering, polishing, finishing, and ring sizing
  • Experience working with precious metals, including gold, silver, platinum, and other jewelry metals
  • Knowledge of gemstones, diamonds, jewelry settings, clasps, chains, rings and other jewelry components
  • Strong knowledge of jewelry repair tools, equipment, and bench jewelry techniques
  • Strong follow up skills requiredStrong problem-solving and interpersonal skills requiredStrong attention to detail requiredStrong communication skills requiredStrong computer skills required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Positive attitude
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills required
  • Punctuality is a must
  • Honest, trustworthy, and professional when handling valuable jewelry, gemstones, and precious metals
