Behavior Technician Under the direction of the staff members listed above, the Behavior Technician works as a team member with teachers, counselors, school social workers and other appropriate personnel to develop appropriate and positive student behavior. Implements strategies that focus on decreasing maladaptive behaviors and increasing social, communication and adaptive skills. Knowledge of and ability to implement, de-escalation techniques; ability to implement, behavior management techniques; intensive behavior intervention techniques; basic subjects taught including mathematics, language arts, science and social studies; safe practices in classroom and playground. Ability to monitor and observe student behavior according to approved policies and procedure; implement SEL curriculum; develop rapport and interact effectively with students; communicate effectively orally and in writing; handle emotionally charged situations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; experience working with students who display challenging behaviors; maintain a current certificate in Physical Management Training (PMT).
