Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil Location: DMVOverviewWe are working with a leading specialist bridge and infrastructure contractor that is looking to hire an experienced Senior Project Manager to help lead a growing portfolio of complex projects. The business is involved in bridge construction, structural repair and strengthening, post-tensioning, infrastructure rehabilitation, and other specialist structural work. We’re looking for someone who has been around complex construction projects and knows how to take ownership — from putting the project plan together and managing the team, through to controlling costs, dealing with clients, and getting the job successfully over the finish line. Key Responsibilities:
  • Take overall responsibility for the delivery of large and complex bridge and infrastructure projects
  • Lead projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Manage project budgets, costs, forecasting, schedule, and profitability
  • Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout the project
  • Handle change orders, RFIs, submittals, contracts, claims, and other commercial matters
  • Review project plans and specifications and work with the team to find practical construction solutions
  • Identify potential project risks early and work with the team to address them
  • Keep projects on track from a cost, schedule, safety, and quality perspective
  • Lead preconstruction efforts including planning, estimating, scheduling, and constructability reviews
  • Support procurement and subcontractor negotiations
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project staff
  • Work with senior leadership on project strategy, client relationships, and business development
  • Get involved in proposals, estimates, and new project pursuits where appropriate
  • Help improve project delivery processes and share lessons learned across the business
  • Why This Opportunity
  • Opportunity to take a senior leadership role on highly technical bridge and infrastructure projects
  • Work for a specialist contractor where engineering and construction expertise are genuinely valued
  • Get involved in projects covering bridge repair, strengthening, post-tensioning, rehabilitation, and new construction
  • Significant ownership over project delivery and commercial performance
  • Opportunity to mentor a strong project team and help develop the next generation of PMsWork alongside experienced engineers and construction professionals
  • Strong long-term opportunity within a growing specialist infrastructure business
  • Competitive compensation and full benefits package
