Lead Cold Header Operator

Job Purpose: Primary responsibility is operating Cold Headers and supporting cold heading department in a technical support role through new part development and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:• Perform duties of Cold Heading Operator as described in HR-JD-COLD HD OP• Assist cross functionally (sales, engineering, etc) in new part sourcing and development including all product activities.• Develop and modify standard work documents• Champion continuous improvement activity throughout the cold heading process• Oversees Cold Heading tooling inventory and replenishment • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. to move raw material and parts as needed • Able to lift up to 70lbs• Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor• Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards

Qualifications: • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience• Possesses an outstanding work ethic and willingness to continue learning.• Able to design/modify tooling to produce desired product.• 10 years minimum verifiable experience setting up and operating multi die progressive headers• Able to operate basic shop equipment such as surface grinder, lathe, hydraulic press, etc.• Ability to perform standard shop computations (math)• Ability to read schematics (blue prints) and engineering drawings• Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures• Accurately enter data into computer program: Data collection system• Perform inspection: visual and manual using some or all of the following - comparators, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc..Full benefits, competitive salary and a relocation allotment.
