Home Care Medical Biller Job at Star Multi Care Services in New York

Responsibilities: Verifying current patient demographic information including insurance information and authorization. Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information Identify the various types of diagnosis and procedures codes (ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS) as they relate to reimbursement Submitting claims in a timely manner to the appropriate parties and to insure that procedures and charges are coded in compliance with Medicaid, HMO and PPO's. Check each insurance payment is for accuracy and compliance with contract discount Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances Call insurance companies and patients regarding any discrepancy in payments Reviewing aging reports to review incoming receivables, responding to denials, collecting on various medical insurance and private pay claims.

Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge of CMS 1500 and 1450 Forms Excellent communication and computer skills Experience with codes, regulations and HIPAA Previous home care billing experience preferred.
