Varsity Cross Country Head Coach – Fall 2026 season. Part‑time, stipended position, August 10 – November 7. Practices weekdays 3:30‑7:00 PM, with potential meets after. Meets on Thursdays at Van Cortlandt Park; race days may begin after 2:00 PM. Stipend ranges from $3,575 to $6,500 for 13 weeks.
Responsibilities:
Attend all practices and meets.
Help create and execute all practice and training plans.
Oversee team operations and administrative duties.
Coordinate travel logistics.
Attend all necessary athletic and school meetings.
Communicate regularly with student‑athletes, parents, staff, and administrators.
Provide leadership and give detailed feedback to student‑athletes.
Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; minimum one year of relevant coaching experience.
Previous high school or college experience preferred.
Strong understanding of track and field disciplines, programs, and strategies.
Growth mindset and passion for learning.
Ability to form strong professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Commitment to equity and inclusion.
Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, independent school setting.
Positivity, flexibility, patience, and sense of humor.
Must complete CDC’s HEADS up concussion awareness training and First Aid/AED/CPR certification before season start.
