Production Operator
Min Requirements: Candidates MUST be able to speak/understand English clearly (this is a safety requirement). This role is labor intensive. Candidates Must be able to walk up and down stairs repeatedly, lift and carry up to 55 LBS throughout the day.
Note: This role involves bagging and changeover with cleaning. Eventually (once trained), the manager expects that this role will include managing raw materials on the line. The environment is dusty.
Background: The plant has a surge in orders currently and expected over the next 3 months. This is a temporary role to help with the demand surge.
Interview Process: Candidates are required to have an onsite interview, which includes a tour of the site and a panel interview. Day Shift: 7am-7pm (M-F) / 60 hours/week
Pay Rate: ***/hour
Responsibilities: Maintain a strong commitment to safety and comply with all site safety requirements, participating in safety meetings, observations, audits, and related activities. Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment. Perform equipment changeovers and assist with the disassembly, assembly, and cleaning of machinery. Execute daily production schedules, identify and resolve quality issues, and escalate unresolved concerns. Stage packaging materials and areas for production. Lift and load materials weighing 55 lbs. or more into equipment. Package finished products and prepare materials for shipment and distribution. Operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods. Use hand tools to perform degating and deflashing activities. Manage raw materials, including organizing, handling, weighing, and measuring. Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Perform routine quality control testing and accurately document production basic equipment maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Dispose of waste and trash in designated containers and compactors.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing or production experience required.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical documents.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Basic computer and math skills required.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal operating procedures, including LOTO requirements.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, twist, and repeatedly lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete respiratory fit testing.
  • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor industrial environments, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and odors.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, long sleeves, long pants, and respiratory protection as required.
