The studio works with forward-thinking clients, cultural enterprises, and institutions to build cultural resonance and advance social agendas within the built environment. Leong Leong is seeking a Project Director (licensed) or Senior Project Manager (unlicensed) with institutional, mixed-use, and commercial building experience to join our New York City office. In this role, you will lead and manage multiple project teams through the delivery of projects from start to finish. You will work closely with the Partners and other functions of the office to align project delivery and processes with the values and goals of the firm.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage multiple projects at once, from initial concept through Construction Administration. Make sure teams deliver projects to the highest design and quality standards, on time and within budget.• Allocate the resources project teams need to complete their work.• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, and report progress to the Partners.• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, making sure their needs and expectations are met throughout the project.• Make sure all project teams work in line with firm culture, firm operations, and industry and professional standards.• Set quality control criteria and run QA/QC processes, including regular drawing reviews and feedback, so that all deliverables meet professional quality standards.• Serve as a technical resource for less experienced team members. Provide mentorship that supports their professional development and builds capacity in the office.• Build a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and excellence on every project team.• Improve project processes and procedures so teams can work more efficiently and effectively.• Work across the office to support project delivery:- Business Development, on proposals- Human Resources, on resource planning- Finance, on project accounting, WIP reporting, and projections- Legal, on professional compliance Minimum Qualifications• Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).• For the Project Director title: licensed architect in New York State, or licensed in another US jurisdiction and eligible for NY reciprocity.• 8+ years of professional experience in architecture on institutional, mixed-use, and commercial projects.• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.• Strong design and project management skills. A proven track record of managing the design process and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.• Strong communication skills with clients, team members, and firm leadership.• Ability to work independently: build work plans, set goals, and deliver results.• Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations. Experience with the NYC Building Code and Zoning Resolution.• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, and Revit, plus operational software including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Salary Range:
$100,000 to $120,000. The range reflects local market data. Final salary will depend on relevant experience.
