Plant SupervisorGENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various types of machines throughout theentire production process. CORE & ESSENTIAL:TASKS:Perform machine setups to start a production cycle Compile the necessary raw materials, ensure appropriate portions/measurements and place them in the machine as specified Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. values, speed) per the batch sheet specifications Ensure proper fill on each container pursuant to the batch sheet Solve production issues, as necessary Check output to discover any machine-related mistakes or flaws Report to supervisor(s) regularly, keeping them updated on production activities and progress Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running Keep records of approved and defective units or final products Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical degree or relevant trade certification isa plus. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered. Proven experience as a machineoperator preferred. Must possess the ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics, andmanuals, along with a strong working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery andmeasurement tools. Must possess a solid understanding of production procedures, analyticalskills, and strong attention to detail. Demonstrated teamwork, effective written and verbalcommunication skills, and the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively withco-workers are essential. Must be results-oriented, able to work effectively to meet or exceedproductivity goals, manage tight time constraints, and work both independently and within ateam environment. Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protectivegear) is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise, and effective manner with co-workers, company representatives, management, and staff in face-to-face, one-on-one, and group settings. Sit, stand, and/or walk for extended time periods. The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, carry, push, pull, reach, and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, sit, and standfor long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, maneuver, and/or pivot up to 50pounds and occasionally lift, maneuver, and/or pivot up to 100 pounds with assistance. Read at, above, and below shoulder height. Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. Sufficient manualdexterity required to operate equipment. Hearing and vision required to be within normal ranges. Ability to accurately distinguish color variation. Ability to properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed in designated areas and use necessary care to avoid placing self andothers in an unsafe environment. Normal range of tolerance to household and other types oftypical industrial/construction chemicals and solvents. The manufacturing plant is not climatecontrolled. Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance at the facility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, chemicalsand/or airborne particles, high pressure fluids, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Tolerateinclement weather, including heat and cold.
