Work Environment: The role of Licensed Mental Health Counselor is designed for a remote telehealth setting, allowing you the flexibility to conduct sessions from the comfort of your home while effectively reaching patients in need. Key Responsibilities: As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will: Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored treatment plans that address both pre-crisis and crisis needs. This includes crafting behavioral guidelines, risk assessments, and medication treatment plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation that meets all regulatory standards while utilizing evidence-based screening tools during sessions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement effective positive behavior support plans that enhance client outcomes. Actively engage in ongoing licensing and accreditation processes to ensure compliance and uphold the highest standards of care. Serve as an essential liaison between clients, service systems, state agencies, and community partners to facilitate comprehensive support networks. Foster open communication channels to meet contractual obligations and enhance the organization's mission within the community. Network with local, state, federal, and private agencies to advocate for our programs and explore new partnerships and funding opportunities. Pursue continuous professional development through attending conferences, workshops, and statewide meetings relevant to mental health practices. Promote and integrate the agency's mission, values, and principles into all aspects of your work. Perform other related duties as assigned by your supervisor to ensure the overall success of the clinic. Patient Population / Client FocusOur ideal candidates are equipped to support a diverse patient population, addressing various mental health needs alongside those recovering from substance abuse and those with developmental challenges. You will work therapeutically with clients ranging from children to adults, adapting your approach to accommodate individual circumstances and promote holistic wellbeing.
Qualifications:
  • To qualify for this pivotal role, candidates must possess:
  • A Master's Degree in a mental health field.
  • An independent LMHC license. We are also willing to cover the licensing fees for counselors currently licensed in other states who are interested in transitioning to California.
Preferred Experience: While not mandatory, the following experiences will enhance your candidacy: Experience providing telehealth services and familiarity with virtual therapy platforms. Background in working with clients facing substance use issues and developmental disabilities. Proficiency in integrating evidence-based practices into treatment. Knowledge of behavioral health regulations and practices.
