Apply for this role →Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer for an excellent position located in the Baltimore, MD area. This position will own existing-building restoration work from investigation through construction support: diagnosing structural deterioration, envelope distress, water intrusion, and performance shortfalls, then completing the analysis and repair design that improves long-term safety and meets code.
Responsibilities:
Develop repair strategies that improve long-term safety and support code. Coordinate with architects, contractors, specialty consultants, and internal staff Direct or produce repair drawings, specifications, bid documents, and construction-phase reviews. Perform field inspections and quality observations on occupied buildings, active sites, rooftops, and similar environments, and present findings to stakeholders. Review team deliverables and coach/mentor junior engineers. Contribute to proposals and ongoing client development.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (master’s preferred)Active PE license 3+ years in structural, restoration, forensic, rehabilitation, or existing-building consulting. Hands-on experience assessing, investigating failures, and designing repairs. Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, construction documents, and recommendations. Experience managing projects full scope, including budget, schedule, and clients. Forensic or failure analysis experience is a plus.
