Junior Accounting / Collections Professional Have you been looking for a law firm that offers growth, mentorship, and real career advancement without the bureaucracy of a large organization? A boutique law firm is seeking an accounts receivable and collections professional who is eager to build a long-term career within a collaborative accounting department. This position offers the rare opportunity to own a critical function while learning directly from an experienced Director of Finance. The firm is open to candidates who have some collections, accounting, or accounts receivable experience and are ready to take the next step in their careers. For someone who is motivated, organized, and eager to learn, there is significant potential for future cross-training in billing, payroll, and accounts payable.
Responsibilities: Contact clients regarding outstanding invoices and assist with collection efforts through phone and email communication. Track receivable balances and maintain accurate records of collection activities and payment commitments. Prepare reports related to collections, aging accounts, retainer balances, and payment status. Process deposits, apply payments, and assist with resolving account discrepancies. Support attorneys and accounting staff by providing updates on collection activity and account status. Assist with billing support, financial reporting, and other accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications: Experience in accounts receivable, collections, customer service, accounting, finance, or a related field. Bachelor's degree and with relevant internships, coursework, or professional experience are encouraged to apply. Comfortable working with numbers, reports, and financial information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn new systems and processes. Seeking a long-term career opportunity with room for growth and advancement. Why This Opportunity Stands Out: This is more than a traditional collections role. You'll have visibility with firm leadership, ownership of an essential business function, opportunities to influence processes, exposure to multiple areas of legal accounting, flexible scheduling options, paid overtime when needed, and a clear path for long-term growth within a boutique law firm environment.___________________________________________________________The Consilio Direct Hire team has partnered with top law firms, associations, and corporations throughout the D.C. metro area to connect professionals with opportunities they won’t find anywhere else.
