Description: Special education paraprofessionals work with early childhood or school age students with behavioral, developmental, and neurotypical needs by providing academic and behavioral support in the classroom at our Northwest (88th & Blondo) or Southwest Centers (138th & Q).. Follows accepted universal precaution practices, including, but not limited to: proper hand-washing techniques, appropriate use of non-latex gloves and the use of individualized items during diaper changes.. Ability to demonstrate successful completion of Personal Care Aide training including a PowerPoint, quiz, and competency demonstration signed by a Registered Nurse as required by Children's Day Health Services Regulations.. Under the general direction and supervision of the Division Dean/Associate Dean of the Building Construction Technology Program, the instructor is responsible for providing regular instruction, developing, and updating the courses taught in a classroom/laboratory, web-based, and or distance learning environment in the Prison Education Program (PEP) and/or other SCC locations. Secondary areas of instruction would focus on cabinet making, machine woodworking, building site layout, masonry, concrete, safety and OSHA's HCS, and job-site safety. Duties will include, but not be limited to, substitute teaching as required, assisting in developing the budget, advising the program director as requested, supporting and promoting the College, the campus, the Building Construction program, supporting student recruitment, assisting in the security of all College and program facilities, instruments, tools, materials, and equipment, and assist in supervising student help.
